Benkyu (the "Service") handles Users' personal information in accordance with the policy set out below.

- Account information: email address, username, authentication information (passwords are stored hashed), profile image, and the like.
- Payment information: if you use a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. The Company does not retain card numbers or the like; it stores only the customer ID and billing status provided by Stripe.
- Usage data: learning progress, submitted code, scores, in-game state, and records of features such as friends, guilds, and chat.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, access date and time, cookies, and the like.
2. Purposes of Use
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and to authenticate Users
- To save learning progress and provide ranking and social features
- To bill and manage paid plans
- To respond to inquiries and send important notifications
- To prevent unauthorized use and ensure security
3. Provision to Third Parties and External Services
The Service uses the following external services for its operation. Each provider's privacy policy applies.
- Stripe (payment processing)
- Vercel (hosting and code execution environment)
- Ably (real-time communication such as chat)
- Resend (email delivery)
Except in the cases above, the Company does not provide personal information to third parties except as required by law or with the User's consent.
4. Use of Cookies
The Service uses cookies to maintain login state and to improve the Service. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may become unavailable.
